Born in Denmark, John made Tasmania his home from the age of five — a place he truly loved.
A determined spirit, forever curious, with a lifelong love of learning — passionate about staying informed and connected right to the end.
He had a great love of nature and took joy in the simple beauty of the world around him.
Always proud of his family and their achievements, no matter how big or small.
He faced his illness with great strength and bravery, never losing his sense of pride or his quiet wit.

Now free from pain, loved and remembered always.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Palliative Care, the Medical Oncology Unit in Burnie, Bass Ward at NWPH, Care2Serve and other practitioners for your kindness, compassion and support during a difficult time.

I lead the Battery Point Sea Scouts; John was one of my scouts for many years. He was one of the nicest boys I worked with and showed some of the most potential I ever seen, which is saying a lot considering the amazing people I met through the years.
